HELLO WOODWORKERS!!! A HUGE SHOUT OUT to my subscribers for keeping me motivated and sharing their creations and thoughts. Love yall!!  Welcome to JDUB-Woodworks and thank you for watching!! I love taking a raw piece of driftwood and creating amazing wood art as well as great usable pieces. If you have seen my other videos you know I use a variety of techniques to achieve the look I want. Sometimes I go really simple and easy...other times...I really make a mess!! LOL..... either way I am passionate about what I do.

Creating Driftwood Art- Love the way this turns out! @JDUB-Woodworks

T he video is meant to guide - instruct- share- and maybe inspire....regardless of your level of craftsmanship I think you will like the journey and the final products.  I've had this piece of driftwood for over 20 years. Never been inside. I even painted it at one time for the last 11 years. It’s been sitting outside in my backyard, lonely, abandoned, and just needing somewhere with a little bit of vision.  I hope this video inspires. I also hope that if you’ve got a piece laying around or you come across one that you consider some of the techniques that I use in any of my videos reach out say hello. Let me know where you’re from.

DRIFTWOOD- Power Carve or Sanding? @JDUB-Woodworks

Many of you have asked about how to begin the process of getting that piece of driftwood to a condition where you can begin to bring new life to the piece!!  Well the good news is that….you have a few options! Driftwood refinishing is a personal preference and there are many ways to get er done!

DRIFTWOOD- Close Encounters @JDUB-Woodworks

In a recent video I was cleaning a piece of driftwood and it reminded me of Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Devil's Tower. That inspired me to attempt to create a Devil's Tower Driftwood Lamp.  Driftwood from the lake is typically oak or cedar and for this one I think it is a red oak and fairly sturdy. I had to really shave a lot off to ensure the piece would be clean and yet still have  that great look. I use a combination of sanding and carving to get my final results.  The video is meant to guide - instruct- share- and maybe inspire....regardless of your level of craftsmanship I think you will like the journey and the final products.

Driftwood Wall Art- Simple Process and Beautiful Results!! @JDUB-Woodworks

HELLO JDUB TRIBE!!!!! ......so this is a really special video because my sweet, beautiful intelligent granddaughter came to visit me here in Texas. It's because of her that this channel exists. When she got her she wanted to create a You Tube video with me AND do a Driftwood art project. How could I possibly refuse?  We use very basic techniques to take this raw driftwood and turn it into something that is absolutely stunning.
